Salmon Rub Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar light or dark
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika regular or smoked for more flavor
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 whole lemon zest from one lemon
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon coarse black pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients: brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, lemon zest, dried thyme, salt, and coarse black pepper.
  2. Mix well until the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  3. Store leftovers in an airtight jar or apply directly to salmon before cooking.

Notes

Always pat your salmon dry before applying the rub. This seasoning is versatile and can also be used on shrimp, potatoes, or as a salad topping.
