  • 1 lb Ground beef (80/20) For optimal flavor
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped Yellow or white
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced For added flavor
  • 1 can Diced tomatoes Optional for a saucy dish
  • 1 cup Broth or water To prevent dryness
Seasonings
  • 1 tsp Cumin For flavor
  • 1 tsp Chili powder Or Italian herb mix
  • to taste tsp Salt and black pepper To taste
Optional Add-ins
  • 1 cup Beans (black, kidney, or pinto) For chili variations
  • 1 cup Frozen vegetables For added nutrition

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode and crumble the ground beef into the pot.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant.
  3. Drain off any excess fat if desired.
Cooking
  1. Stir in the seasonings and any sauce you're using.
  2. Pour in broth or water, ensuring the mixture is not too dry.
  3. Seal the lid and set the Instant Pot to pressure cook for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Perform a quick release once done.
Serving
  1. Open the lid, stir, and add cheese or fresh herbs if desired.
  2. Serve over rice, tortillas, or as desired.

Notes

For variations, consider different spices based on cuisine preferences. You can also make it vegetarian by using lentils or meat substitutes.
