Ingredients

For the salad
  • 4 cups seedless grapes (red, green, or both) Choose the prettiest ones at the store.
  • 8 oz cream cheese Full fat for best flavor; lighter cream cheese works too.
  • 1/2 cup sour cream Do not substitute with yogurt.
  • 1/2 cup white sugar Plain and simple sugar.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Adds sweetness.
For the topping
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar For sprinkling on top.
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans Optional; skip for nut allergies.

Method

Preparation
  1. Soften the cream cheese slightly for easier mixing.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Wash and dry the grapes thoroughly to avoid sogginess.
  4. Fold the grapes into the creamy mixture gently using a spatula.
  5. Sprinkle the brown sugar and pecans on top before serving.
  6. Optionally, chill for a short while to blend the flavors.

Notes

Make sure to let the cream cheese soften and dry off the grapes well. This salad can be made ahead of time; just add the topping right before serving. Toasting the pecans enhances their flavor.
